A Major goal for this school year, school-wide is writing growth. We are working to develop/improve instruction to have students increase their abilities as a writer. During this week we are working on Comparing and Contrasting in writing. Today in particular we work on metaphors, I was so impressed with the students examples of Metaphors.....
Example: The sky was still like a lion waiting to chase its prey. WOW!
I encouraged them to use "like " and "as" in their sentences.
Parent Thought....Ask your child what metaphor they came up with!!

Friday Nov. 20th - H1N1 Forms due back to school....all student need to return a form if they are /are not having a H1N1 shot.
NEXT Week....No School Wednesday, Thursday or Friday! Due to Thanksgiving Holiday
